Citrus County Divorce Records

In Citrus County, divorce/dissolution of marriage cases fall under family law proceedings heard in the Unified Family Court, a division of the Citrus County Circuit Court. Such actions are initiated by couples seeking to end their marital union, and the resulting court records are known as divorce records. In the fiscal year 2024-2025, 65 simplified dissolution cases and 380 standard dissolution cases were filed in Citrus County, as highlighted in the Florida Judicial System’s Court Filings and Statistics Reports.

Under Fla. R. Gen. Prac. & Jud. Admin. 2.420, Citrus County divorce records are available to members of the public, and copies can be requested through the Circuit Clerk’s Office for a fee. Additionally, free inspection of case indexes and dockets is available through the Citrus County Secured Courts Online Record Search System (SCORSS) or the Citrus County Court Docket Search system. Information that may be retrieved includes the divorce petition, orders, summonses, and the final decree.

Per F.S. 28.2221(5)(a), images of Citrus County family law records, including divorce records, are not available for viewing on publicly available websites, but they may be viewed or copied at the county courthouse or West Citrus Government Center.

As with other court records, confidential divorce records, such as financial affidavits, driver’s license numbers, and the names of minor children, are restricted from public access.
